Stepping Stones is a full-service, licensed adoption program offering services ranging from birth mother counseling and support, home study services through post placement supervision. We help people who want to grow their families through various adoption options based on their personal goals. We also assist women who are facing unplanned pregnancies and are considering making an adoption plan. Services include: counseling, case management, financial assistance for mothers, and personalized adoption planning. All families and children in the adoption program are based in the USA.

Stepping Stones is a Maine-based agency with more than 35 years of experience in the field of adoption. Formerly known as MAPS, we began supporting families in 1977 by providing adoption services in Maine, and later developing international adoption and humanitarian aid programs. As the needs of Maine women, children and families change and evolve; Stepping Stones has become a leading provider of social services in Maine and will continue to offer support, guidance and a brighter future by helping children and empowering families.
